No Build Alternative: A no-build alternative. Although the State does not list this as an alternative, it is an alternative. The no-build alternative is the alternative we are advocating for Huntingburg, Indiana.

Alternative #1: West of Huntingburg and Jasper. The 06/19/2001 environmental statement indicated this alternative generally had the fewest impacts, would incorporate more of the existing 231 and was closest to the Huntingburg Airport.

Alternative #2: East of Huntingburg and West of Jasper. The 06/19/2001 environmental statement indicated this alternative preserve the flexibility to either bypass Haysville or go through the center of town.

Alternative #3: East of Huntingburg and East of Jasper. The 06/19/2001 environmental statement indicated this alternative would best serve the Huntingburg Airport, utilize more of the existing U.S. 231 and have fewer natural resources impacts, while preserving the flexibility to either bypass Haysville or go through the center of town.

Alternative #4: West of Huntingburg and West of Jasper. The 06/19/2001 environmental statement indicated this alternative was found to have the same benefits as Alternative #3.

Alternative #5: West of Huntingburg and West of Jasper. The 06/19/2001 environmental statement indicated this alternative has good engineering feasibility, acceptable low environmental and preserves general route options for later stages of the evaluation process.
