The recommended bypass alternative will run diagonally across the rural west side of Huntingburg, ripping Huntingburg's farming community and many east-west roadways in half. This will result in; the likelihood of increased accidents involving our children.

Many bus routes and parents taking their children to school will be redirected to cross the bypass several times a day.

A roadway running diagonally across the length of Huntingburg prime farmland already split by a natural barrier (ex. creek, tree line) will further divide that farmland into four parcels of land. Thus, significantly decreasing the safety of the farmers and their equipment. This also significantly increases the likelihood that farmland will be incapable of being farmed profitably.

Permanent loss in Southwestern Indiana's agricultural infrastructure, farmers, natural resources, woods, wetlands, animal population, wildlife habitats, natural scenic beauty and rural characteristic. In turn, significantly decreases the amount of land available for both public and private open space for all people to enjoy, and the available land on which to incorporate animal waste.

Substantially reduces the significance of agriculture to the local community and related programs, and the local economy supply chain.

Significantly contributes to the substantial decrease or will lead to the destruction of the family farming traditions, historical significance and rural way of life.

Roadways facilitate urban sprawl, significantly increasing the likelihood of land being condemned for future waves of commercial and residential development. In turn, leading to more traffic safety and efficiency issues. As well as, increasing the noise, air pollution and crime rate in a rural area.
