High Power Rifle

 

Schedule:   2nd Saturday of month April to October.  Match starts at 8:00a.m.

Cost:  $15.00; ($4.50 of fee goes to NRA, $3.50 of fee goes to Jasper Rifle & Gun Club, $7.00 will be divided among match  & class winners)

Firearms used:  

Usual number of rounds needed:  88 rounds total.  Twenty rounds, plus 2 sighters, fired at each stage:

  1. Slow fire standing at 100 yards.  Time limit 22 minutes.
  2. Rapid fire, standing to sitting at 100 yards.  Time limit 60 seconds per 10-shot string.
  3. Rapid fire, standing to prone  at 100 yards.  Time limit 70 seconds per 10-shot string.
  4. Slow fire, prone at 100 yards. Time limit 22 minutes

Other equipment needed (in addition to eye and ear protection):  2 magazines, sling, glove or mitt, shooting coat, shooting mat, spotting scope, scorebook/data book.

Targets:  Bullseye type paper targets.  The size of the black bullseye appears the same for the different distances, but the scoring rings vary in size.
