I have restored an antique car. It is a 1924 Maxwell Touring Car. This car first belonged to my wife's grandfather, Mr. Louis H. Sturm. Most recently, her uncle, Mr. Hugo Sturm, owned the car. It passed into our hands upon Hugo's death. We have done a complete restoration of the car. The body was removed from the frame and completely sanded and panted, along with new wood for the rear floor boards, by Keusch Body Shop. The mechanical work was started by Bob Jahn's garage, and completed by Bohnert's Shell of Jasper, In. The top and the inside upholstering was done by Ed Plotner Jr. I did most of the leg work in finding and locating parts. Among the parts that I had to locate were a new wiring harness, pistons and valves, gaskets, head light parts such as a lens and retaining ring for the lens, tires and tubes. "Hemming's motor news" was a great help in locating sources for these and other needed items.
