STURM HARDWARE PAGE

The Hardware Store has been a blessing in disguise. Without the store, I wonder what I would be doing at this time.

(Probably fishing and playing golf.)

Great news!!!

We have succeeded in getting the hardware store listed on the National Registry of Historical places

I must give a lot of credit to Mr. Ron Flick of Jasper,

who did most of the write up for the application.

Thanks Ron

This is a picture of the store as taken in 1888.
The hardware store has been in continuous business since it was built in 1886, and has been in my wife's family since at least 1895.

My retirement time is occupied by assisting my wife, Sharon (in the pictures below), in the operation of L.H. Sturm Hardware. It is located on the Public Square in beautiful downtown Jasper, Indiana. The pictures below are of the inside of the store.

This picture is not of the best quality, sorry. We stock a lot of old type items that are not carried by other stores. Other stores may say that they stock the hard-to-find items, but in fact we are the only one in this area who does. If we don't have it, we will take the extra time to try and find it for the customer. Give us a try, and stop in for that hardware or kitchen item that you have been looking for, and can't find elsewhere, or just to visit with us. If you have seen this home page and stop in, let us know that you are visiting because you saw us on the Internet. We have visitors from all over the world, and if you are from out-of-town we would like for you to sign our "Visitors Log". Mention that you saw this invitation on our web site.

I finally got my picture on my own website.

Drop us a line at bdm727@fullnet.com! We may be able to help you locate that "hard to find" item that you have been looking for, but were unable to locate at your local Wal-Mart or K-mart store. I have removed the link to my e-mail address to cut down on the proliferation of SPAM.

Check out Jasper's downtown web site at Greater Downtown Jasper Business Association.
